Agile Discovery: Strategic Recon

• A micro-version of our discovery model, used when access is limited or timelines are compressed. Strategic Recon provides early directional clarity by combining stakeholder input, OSINT, structured research methods, and AI-supported synthesis.

Challenge
A military research organization sought to explore how to support trainee resilience by delivering survey-based insights and personalized dashboards during early-stage training.

Approach
Over two days, we synthesized stakeholder input, a research-driven question matrix, structured data from a SQL model, and OSINT to develop a representative user persona and an early dashboard concept.

Outcome
The early concept sparked deeper interest and follow-on conversations, laying the foundation for formal discovery efforts and aligning stakeholders around a clear path forward.

Challenge
A federal partner needed to quickly and efficiently understand how leaders evaluate program data to reduce duplication and identify opportunities for streamlining—despite limited initial access to users or systems.

Approach
We applied our FAST Plays in a hybrid session to map user roles and challenges, using AI-supported TASK Agents to synthesize insights in real time. Leveraging our Conduit Design System, we rapidly created prototypes to visualize possible solutions and gather early feedback.

Outcome
This 12-month discovery effort was jumpstarted through early clarity and stakeholder alignment that enabled faster iteration, reduced friction, and delivered validated outcomes with speed and precision.
